For the upcoming season, Quantum Autosport will be competing in the Spec Racer Ford (SRF) class once again. The team previously contested the SRF class between 2017 and 2020, with Quentin De Boever driving the first two seasons and Bart De Boever taking over driver duties for the remainder of the time. However, the team have upgraded from a 2nd generation SRF to a 3rd generation variant. Although the chassis and body remain the same for each, there are some notable differences. The 3rd generation SRFs use a much more modern 1.6 liter Ford four-cylinder engine with about 15% more power than those found in 2nd generation cars. Additionally, the weight of the 3rd generation cars are 110 pounds (or about 50 kilograms) lighter than their 2nd generation counterparts. On top of being significantly quicker, the competition is much larger in the 3rd generation cars.

Bart De Boever will once again be the primary driver for our SRF endeavors, and we hope to compete in several regional events over the course of 2022. Our first outing is provisionally set to be at Sebring International Raceway in mid-February. However, time constraints will always be a factor that can potentially push our first outing further into the year. We are currently still preparing the new-to-us SRF for the season ahead with plenty of items still on the to-do list.
